Mr. Letteri has almost 30 years of experience with all aspects of a wide range of complex commercial litigation, including cases involving banking, securities, and real estate matters. Prior to joining Antonoplos & Associates, Mr. Letteri worked for international law firms and as a government prosecutor with the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission and with the legal division of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Letteri also has conducted internal investigations for corporate boards of directors and audit committees, and he has represented individuals and entities involved in investigations conducted by the Department of Justice, the SEC and other government agencies.
Mr. Letteri earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont, and his Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University, where he graduated 4th in his class and served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Law Review.
Mr. Letteri is admitted to practice in the states of Maryland, the District of Columbia and Texas. In his free time, Mr. Letteri enjoys reading, sports and travel.

Represented Individual Investing in Real Estate Development Limited Liability Company
Successfully negotiated terms of limited liability company operating agreement for individual making $400,000 investment in real estate development project.
Represented Investor in Closely Held Maryland Corporation Shareholder Dispute
Filed suit in Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland on behalf of a shareholder of closely held Maryland construction company with claims for judicial dissolution, an accounting, and breaches of fiduciary duty. Negotiated favorable sale of shareholder’s stake to settle the action.
Represented Subcontractor in Breach of Contract Suit Against General Contractor
Filed suit in Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland on behalf of a subcontractor for breach of contract against a general contractor that had not paid the subcontractor for work performed. Tried the case to a six-person jury, which returned a verdict in favor of the subcontractor.
Represented Online Education Company in Arbitration
Successfully represented online education company in breach of contract dispute with client in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, adding to our experience and expertise with arbitration matters.
Represented Landlord in TOPA Dispute with Commercial Tenant
Defended landlord of a family-owned commercial building in a TOPA lawsuit brought by a tenant in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. The tenant claimed that under TOPA, it was entitled to buy the building at a reduced price. We argued and won a motion for summary judgment that defeated all of the tenant’s TOPA and other claims, negotiated a buy-out of third party’s interest in property on terms favorable to the landlord, and obtained a rental rate increase for the landlord for the space in dispute.
Represented District of Columbia Homeowner in Suit Against D.C. Agency
Filed suit on behalf of District of Columbia homeowner against agency of the D.C. government for damages that the agency’s construction project had caused to our client’s property. Negotiated favorable settlement terms for our client during early mediation of case.
Represented Member of Limited Liability Company in Dispute with Majority Owner
An individual who owned 10 percent of a Maryland limited liability company wanted the majority owner to buy her interest at a fair price. The majority owner refused. We prepared a lawsuit against the majority owner for breach of fiduciary duty and for wrongly oppressing the rights of the minority interest owner in violation of applicable Maryland statutes and law. Without filing the suit, we negotiated a buy-out of our client’s interest on favorable terms.
Represented District of Columbia Condominium Unit Owner in Noise Dispute with HOA
We represented a condominium unit owner in the District of Columbia in a dispute with the Board of Directors of the condominium homeowners’ association over noise generated by heating and air conditioning compressors that, when operating, cause unreasonable amounts of noise in our client’s unit. We negotiated with the board to place anti-vibration pads under each of the units, which significantly reduced the noise generated by the machines.
Represented Partner in Dispute Over Control and Finances of Construction Company
Filed suit on behalf of a fifty percent owner of a construction company when his partner improperly terminated his interest in the company. Worked through both an arbitration and further litigation of the matter and successfully settled the case for a significant payment from the company to our client for his interest.
Represented Owner of Property in Mediation with Contractor
Represented owner of four-unit apartment building in Washington, D.C. in dispute with general contractor over quality of renovations to the building. Successfully mediated resolution of the dispute before the American Arbitration Association.
Represented Owner of Property in Dispute with Holdover Tenant
A client purchased a building in foreclosure and discovered a holdover tenant at the property. We were able to quickly negotiate a cash-for-keys agreement with the holdover tenant and avoid lengthy litigation over the matter.
Represented Owner of Property in Dispute with Tenant for Non-Payment of Rent
Represented the owner of a four-unit apartment building in proceedings before Landlord-Tenant court against tenant who refused to pay rent. Obtained judgment for possession of premises and a money judgment for $8,700 in unpaid rent.
Represented Condominium Owner in Suit Against Homeowners Association
Our client owned a ground floor condominium unit that was flooded when a fire sprinkler went off in a third floor unit, causing water to cascade down into her property. The condominium homeowners’ association made some repairs to her damaged unit, but left much undone. We filed suit on behalf of the condominium owner in Prince George’s County District Court and tried the case to a judge, who awarded significant damages to our client and against the HOA.
